Favorite Quote // "Learn the rules so you can break them."

I'm sure the quote by William Shakespeare, "A jack of all trades is a master of none, but oftentimes better than a master of one." profoundly resonates with any creative New Yorker adding a second, third, or sometimes fourth hustle to their repertoire of skillsets. When you add these skills and learn them inside and out, then you can begin applying them where they don't belong and develop ingenuity. Because oftentimes, there is some "thinking outside the box" needed to soar above the rest.
Now, I'm not knocking the person who only focused on one career trajectory for the entirety of their life (Jiro Dreams of Sushi, anyone?). I am, however, discrediting the rule follower who stays in their lane, punching in, punching out. Where's the innovation? The creativity? The recognition of a full hand, a royal flush if you will, of skills that can make you stand out amongst the crowd?

Learn the rules so you can break them! Cleverly, of course.
